Keep Wakefield Warm this Winter

Thousands of people live in fuel poverty across the Wakefield District. Working families are forced to choose between feeding their children and heating their homes, because their wages simply don’t go far enough.

Our Keep Wakefield Warm this Winter campaign raises funds to provide Emergency Winter Fuel Grants to people in need.

Despite running our fuel poverty campaign for many years, the issue has never been more pertinent than these last few years, with a cost-of-living crisis and escalating energy prices.

The funds raised are distributed amongst lower income families and individuals from the Wakefield District who struggle with their outgoings and need an emergency grant during the challenging winter months. In addition to raising funds, The Community Give Box provides warm clothing, coats, duvets and blankets to families and individuals struggling in the winter, as well as homeless shelters.

Our 2022 campaign raised £25,000, which was given to Wakefield Council to distribute to struggling households across the Wakefield District. Read the Wakefield Express coverage.
