“Since March 2021, we have directly engaged with 339 individuals through the following channels:
68 participants got involved with the 11 Zoom calls we hosted. This was an online programme of engagement activity for older people using the ‘Zoom’ platform and Trust’s ‘YouTube’ account. Over the 5 months, content included sports reminiscence, mental resilience, and group learning opportunities. The focus of these sessions was to provide activities of interest which were attractive to older people with the engagement acting as a stimulus for developing new friendships.
271 Wakefield Trinity members and season ticket holders (aged over 56) were called by our staff members using a logbook and a script we produced. Participants were engaged through different topics such as Wakefield Trinity news/updates, physical and mental wellbeing, reducing loneliness and isolation, Zoom calls with players, The Big Feed project, and communicating accurate COVID-19 and vaccination information.”
