In our local communities, there are many people like John, still living in fuel poverty. People who spend every hour in bed just to keep warm and families that have to choose between eating and heating.
Donating just £2 will ‘Give the Gift of Warmth’ and help families and the elderly keep warm for a day. Your support really does make a difference, please donate here.
For the second year the Foundation was selected to take part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, where donations to this campaign were doubled between the 1 – 8 December.
Thanks to our amazing donors and pledges of support from WDH, Wakefield Council, Route One Infrastructure, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, we hit our target to raise £20,000 on the last day of the challenge.
This campaign, however, is far from over and will run all winter, as we need to raise as much money as possible to help people in the Wakefield district facing fuel poverty.
Following the continuing harsh effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, many more communities are likely to suffer the effects of fuel poverty, this winter.
Last year the Fuel Poverty campaign helped over 600 households, this year the target is 800.
So please Give the Gift of Warmth and donate here.
