Just in time for Christmas

Spectrum Drama are a group based in Altofts, Normanton at the Mary Magdalene Church Hall. Manned entirely by volunteers the group have been helping youngsters to raise their aspiration for over 20 years by teaching them Theatre Skills and they carry out two performances every year.

The age group for children taking part range from 6 to 18 and are currently rehearsing from their Christmas Pantomime “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs”, which promises to be a very entertaining show.

The Community Foundation Wakefield District popped in on Friday 14th October 2016 to see how the rehearsals for the show were going, performances are in early December, and we were treated to a really spectacular routine. The reason for our visit was to present the group with a cheque for £1,675 donated by WACCL (Wakefield Annual Children’s Charity Lunch) which will enable the group to buy new, much needed, mobile microphones to replace their extremely old ones, just in time for their Christmas Shows. The cheque was present by Sarah Wood (CFW Trustee) and David King (Member of WACCL).
